Where "Kestryl" originally comes from, for me at least, is Lloyd Alexander's Westmark Trilogy.
In this trilogy the main character takes on the nickname of Kestrel, which is the name of a common English Hawk. To be honest, I do not remember exactly what the Trilogy was about, but the books are now available on Amazon.com so if you're interested, just click on the links below to read more about them (you could also buy them if it fancy's your interest). Anyways, for some reason the name of Kestrel just stuck in my head. When I signed up for my very first internet account I chose the username of "Kestryl", with the slight change of spelling just to keep it unique (not to mention I think it looks nice that way). Since then, my username on any Internet service I have been on has been "Kestryl". Well, when it came time to register a domain for myself the first thing that popped into my head was "Kestryl.com" and amazingly enough it was available. And that my friends is the story of how Kestryl.com came into being. Only registered users can write comments. Please login or register. Powered by AkoComment 2.0! |
