What a wonderful thing it is to sleep in until 7 am. Yes I know you're thinking "Only 7 am!"... but remember, I have a 5 and a 2 year old, so sleeping until 7 am is a rarity. We lazily got up and just sort of lounged about for the first couple of hours. Julie cooked up some eggs and the kids had some cereal, and it was a nice quiet morning of sitting and reading. The kids of course ran around and terrorized each other, but I didn't really expect any less.

Grandma and Grandpa took the kids down the pool, and Julie and I headed over to the Spa/Salon. Julie had seen an advertisement for a $30 neck and back massage, and a $35 manicure, pedicure, and drink. While the drink did look tempting, I decided to forgo the manicure and sign up for the neck and back massage. Julie of course opted for the manicure/pedicure package. We then headed over to meet up with the kids and grandparents.

Kids in the Pool with Grandpa

The kids were already in the pool with Grandma and Grandpa having a wonderful time. The water was cool, but not cold and there was a nice breeze coming of the ocean. We spent all morning playing in the pool with the kids, and finished up the morning by having lunch at the poolside bar and grill. Blake falling asleapThe food was good, but we had to wait.... and wait.... and wait, for the pleasure of getting to eat the food. During this wait, Blake started to pass out from exhaustion in his high chair. After letting him sleep hunched over on the high chair table for a few minutes, Julie picked him up so he could sleep peacefully on Mommy.

We headed back to the room and let the kids watch some DVD's, while the adults showered and cleaned themselves up. Once their movie ended the kids were back to their regular bedlam (actually before the movie ended, but who's paying attention), so we decided to pack up and head to town again. I found on the drive back that I'm getting a little more comfortable with driving in Mexico... a fact that surprises even me. Mickey's RestaurantWe went to a little place called Mickey's Restaurant that Christine and Joe had been to many times before. LupeThey serve a tequila punch that is very tasty, and come with an extra shot of tequila on the side. You don't really have to worry about running out of tequila however because Lupe (the owner) just keeps filling that shot glass up everytime you finish it off.

After a nice dinner (with a great drink), we headed off to town for a little shopping. Julie had seen some nice sarong/bra top outfits when we had been in town the other night, so we walked around an looked for one that she liked. After hitting a few stores Julie found one and then talked them down from $25 to $20 for the outfit. We all decided that we had had enough of the heat, and Blake was covering his ears as some young drunk people sang Karaoke and Kyle proclaimed "There are bad drunk people singing, and it's baaad! Let's go!", and headed back to the cars and to the resort.

Kyle playing video games

Once back, we let Kyle head off to his favorite pastime of playing video games, and we sat and watched a little TV. Sunset as seen from our roomJulie tried on her new outfit, and after many, many times of telling her how good she looked I think she believed me (or at least humored me by not arguing with me), and then quickly changed back into her shorts and t-shirt. We found that A&E in Mexico allows full frontal nudity.... it's amazing how Mexico is growing on me. We decided to finish off the evening by watching Paint Your Wagon and listening to the "kid bowling" going on upstairs.
