Kyle's Parade of Readers Chains

It's been a few months since the snow and the winter holidays have passed for us. We've taken a few short trips here over Spring Break and to see some more of Alabama.

We've had a few exciting things like the Parade of Readers at Kyle's School, see his chains pictured  here and read further in our article for more on that.....

In the Photo Gallery we took a few trips, one to Arkansas, and one to the Ave Maria Grotto. In Arkansas we visited Hot Springs National park and Lavaca, the town my family lived in from 1978-1984 (appx). The Ave Maria Grotto is a Benedictine Monk's creation of miniatures of Holy land and other famouse landmarks in Cullman, Alabama. It is a lovely Catholic shrine, a testament to one man's artistry and faith.

Kevin has been very busy at work, he's in Houston this week for work, and is doing really well.

Kyle participate in "Parade of Readers at school, where they challenge 1st graders to read as many books or chapters as they can in five weeks. Kyle read 301! He was very proud and I am glad we took the time to see this fun event. They had paper chains with their link for every book/chapter, and I have included that photo here in our news article.

Blake will be attending Willowbrook Baptist pre Kindergarten in August. It's a four day 8-12:15 program where they take their lunches and is academically tracked for Kindergarten. I am really excited for him, and he'll get to go to chapel every week and meet some new friends.

I've been seeing a personal trainer to get ideas on getting in better shape fitness level wise. More strength training and smarer techniques. Other than that, I volunteer in the reading Moms program at school where we volunteer to read once a week with 3-4 kids in Kyle's 1st grade class. Oh, and I run this houshold more or less.

Upcoming events include our visit from the Easter bunny, Kevin goes to two weddings in May, our tenth wedding anniversary, and our trip to the East Coast. We'll see the Blue Ridge parkway, Amish country and Hershey park, along with other yet to be planned stops.

Come back and see us from time to time!
